The employer is the highest level of organisation of employees within CS P11D. All employees are associated with an employer. There is no limit to the number of employers you want to have on the data file.
Sharing data between employers
Note that when you add a second employer, you will be asked if you want employers to share schemes, cars and groups or if they should each have independent schemes, cars and groups. This is a once-only decision and will affect any further employers that may be added to the file at a later stage.
Where data was shared in the previous year’s file, roll forward will create a new file with shared data. Similarly, where data was not shared between employers in the previous year’s file, roll forward will create a new file without shared data.
Moving between employers
To move between employers in the same data file, either:
•go to the home page by clicking the home page icon on the toolbar and select the employer name link
•click the drop-down menu on the home page icon and select the employer name and the appropriate icon.
•select the employer name and appropriate icon from the View menu.
The employer screen
The employer screen is split into two parts:
The upper part shows the total number of forms P11D created and the number of employees with each type of benefit. These totals are further broken down to show the error/warning status. By clicking on a number link the relevant subset of employees will be shown on the employees screen.
The lower part of the page contains the Employer Details
